Official HANNIBAL Thread (Season 3)
It's somewhat embarrassing how much I love this show.

RE: Official HANNIBAL Thread (Season 3)
I finally watched the season premiere last night. I missed Will Graham, but loved the fracturing of Bedelia's façade. It seems as if the show is veering away from the procedural format of the previous seasons. If they are, I'm going to miss it. I really did enjoy seeing other killers orbiting Hannibal's world. Also, the episode was way, way too stylish beyond even the show's usual flourishes. They could have trimmed ten minutes just from all the slow motion imagery.

RE: Official HANNIBAL Thread (Season 3)
a) I haven't seen Mizumono since it's premiere because I found it as overwhelming a piece of art as I've ever experienced, so that opening was such a harrowing combination of beauty and terror because I didn't quite remember it - the beats were familiar, but the details not.
b) Good god, if you can complain about an episode that ends as remarkably as this one (the entire catacombs sequence was sheer dreadful terror)... I dunno. c) I get why people want plot, but the characterizations are so on point that the characters and the aesthetics of the show are enough for me. d) The broken-hearted stag? Wowza. e) I figured it out pretty much immediately, but the way they revealed that Abigail was only in Will's memory palace was still pretty heartbreaking. Truthfully, I find this show's combination of florid visuals and heightened feelings to be pretty emotional. Hugh Dancy is working on an insanely high register. Loving it. |

Just waiting for Hulu or Netflix to announce a pick-up. Because that's how things work these days, right?

Ugh. Somebody had better pick this up pronto.
And NBC should just cancel itself at this point. |

RE: Official HANNIBAL Thread (Season 3)
I'm glad that Hannibal is back to its case-of-the-week format. The first half of the season was too artsy for me and a bit of a snooze until the last couple of episodes. I wonder if Bryan Fuller cast Richard Armitage due to his supposed connection to Lee Pace?

One of the all time great shows. The last great network show (?). This season was stunning and the finale was thrilling.
