RE: Official GAME OF THRONES Thread: Season 6
I found last week's episode pretty slow.

Thought this episode was amazing. Perhaps as close to a "feel-good" episode as we'll get. Best of the season by far.

Yeah it was probably the strongest episode of the season so far. The reunion between Sansa and Jon was terrific (as was Sansa's strength). More than that there was a real sense of the game for the throne again.

Finally caught up. Olenna brings me joy every time she's on screen, and it was so fun to watch her team up with Joffrey's parents. Plus, Khaleesi's Carrie moment and Sansa coming into her own with Jon - perfection.

Hold the door.
One of the show's best episodes. |

I generally find the show kinda boring and hard to follow the mythology... but hold the door was one of my favorite payoffs to any storyline i can remember, on any show. Incredible.

I didn't think it was as great as many seem to think, probably because I don't feel overly invested in Bran.

Emmy talk: I think Jack Bender has a shot at an Outstanding Directing nomination for this. He might even win! (Emmys owe him for not giving him a Directing Emmy for Lost).
If he is submitted, I have a feeling the actor who plays Hodor, Kristian Nairn, has a shot at a Guest Actor in a Drama nomination. If Mark Margolis could get in for Breaking Bad, I think Hodor has a shot. But I hear HBO is only submitting Ian McShane, Diana Rigg and Max Von Sydow for Guest. |

RE: Official GAME OF THRONES Thread: Season 6
It'd be nice if some of those with a lesser public profile had a chance at these things but can you blame HBO for wielding out the 'big guns'!? Diana Rigg should have won one for 'GoT' by now. Can't see Max van Sydow winning. Ian McShane has still to appear yet (apparently he's in episode seven) but he hasn't won over fans by giving away spoilers in the past couple of months.
