Game Of Thrones: Season 3
* So, I already knew about the massacre that took place this season and the setting, but I wasn't aware of which characters would perish in it. It felt like a shakeup that needed to happen and it happened at the right time. * Diana Rigg is all sorts of great in her brief scenes. * Still eager for Danaerys to get incorporated into the larger story. It feels like there needs to be some progress on that front. * I know of one key death in Season 4. Don't know much about how it happens other than that it happens. I think that's the one thing I know of in advance, so I'm looking forward to seeing how that goes down and wrapping up the season so I can be all caught up. |

RE: 12 Seasons in 12 Months
I watched the first three episodes of Downton Abbey's first season. So far..... kinda bland. Not bad, but nothing spectacular. I'm hoping it gets better.

Yay. Netflix finally launched. I can watch stuff now that's not Vanderpump Rules.

RE: 12 Seasons in 12 Months
Finished Downton Abbey. Still surprised that this became a phenomenon as it is good, and that's about it. It's well produced, but none of the characters feel very well developed by the end of the season (as they are trying to juggle the upstairs/downstairs dynamic). It's also a pure soap opera, which is fine. But some of the stories get a bit silly (the bit with the soap was.... kind of hilarious in the worst way).
I do think it became more interesting by the end of the season, as some of the characters became better defined. Michelle Dockery is a lot of fun, and I wish they'd let her loose a bit more. She doesn't seem to get much screentime, despite being at the center of the season long arc. Maggie Smith is, indeed, really fun in the role. In fact, I enjoyed that the show had quite a few really well done comedic bits/dialogue. I'm sure I'll get around to watching more, but not anytime soon, probably. |

Game of Thrones: Season 4
* Finally finished, and with enough time to get Sillicon Valley knocked out before it starts up for the next season. Glad to see many of the deaths. the John Snow storyline became much more interesting, beginning to wonder if Daenarys will ever be incorporated in to the rest of the narrative. Glad to see several of the characters killed off. Will be nice though to be able to watch the next season with no spoilers. |

RE: 12 Seasons in 12 Months
I finished season 5 of Mary Tyler Moore. It was probably my favorite so far. Ted Knight owned the season for me. I also really loved the writing on "You Try To Be A Nice Guy" and how they brought the prostitute back. The actress had a great, odd delivery and it's sad she passed away so young.

Silicon Valley is fun, perhaps a bit more slight than I was anticipating, but I'm enjoying it so far. It's not in the same league as the other Sunday night shows set to premiere next week, but I enjoyed season 1 and look forward to the new season. It's slightness may pair well after an episode of Game of Thrones.

I can't decide if I should start Hill Street Blues, The Sopranos, or The Wire next.

RE: 12 Seasons in 12 Months
I think so, too, but it's more a matter of, "Am I ready to commit to this?" I might wait until I get into summer and am not watching much new so I can completely devote to it.
I feel like Sheldon from this past week's Big Bang. |
