RE: 2017/2018 Emmys
Just noticed Kelli O'Hara is an Emmy nominee for acting. YES, YES, YES!!!
And I will never understand the appeal of "Curb Your Enthusiasm." Blech. |

If we're including the Limited Series/Movie categories, Riz Ahmed won last year and Darren Criss (who's half-Filipino, FYI) is nominated this year. Also, apparently the Academy added a rule that at least one multi-cam comedy MUST be nominated the Outstanding Directing in a Comedy series. The initial six did not include one so they added a seventh Comedy Directing nomination for an episode of The Big Bang Theory. I looked it up. The last time they nominated a multi-cam sitcom for a Comedy Directing nomination was How I Met Your Mother back in 2011 and the last time a multi-cam sitcom WON Comedy Directing was back in 1999 when the pilot of Sports Night won. |

I'm not getting my hopes up about Ross winning Comedy Actress. I'm sure it will be Janney. 100%

And this goes for any active Scientologist that also speaks out in defense of the organisation. And has also seen me completely stop enjoying any content from arguably my favourite actress growing up, Kirstie Alley. And I also will not revisit one of my favourite TV shows, "My Name Is Earl". |

RE: 2017/2018 Emmys
- Twin Peaks' snub in limited series was predictable as the show was too out there for basic emmy voters, but Kyle MacLachlan not getting in is just plain ridiculous. The best performance of the tv season in any category and it gets the boot for Antonio Banderas and John Legend. Unbelievable.
- Cameron Britton's nomination in Drama Guest Actor for his terrifying work in Mindhunter is exhilarating. He towers over his category and deserves to win, but Emmy voters being as lazy as they are, it'll proabably be one of the This Is Us guys. - Speaking of This Is Us, the Mandy Moore snub stings. Justin Hartley deserved consideration as well. - You know they loved Handmaid's Tale when you have too look up who Guest Actress nominee Kelly Jenrette played on the show. Still don't remember her. Thrilled for Yvonne Strahovski though, the show's real MVP. - Nice to see Tatiana Maslany getting one final mention. Weird how the emmys finally embraced her just when critics started taking her for granted. - As a devout Buffy fan, that Alexis Denisof nom in Short Form Actor brought a big smile to my face. - All in all these nominations are not as bad as I anticipated, but still messy as ever. |

DeStorm Power getting nominated for the Short category for acting removes any credibility that category has. Look him up.

I’m fairly certain Jenrette is the actress who played Luke’s first wife who confronts June about their relationship during a flashback scene. The time I spent looking her up to investigate probably exceeds her screen time. |

Still, I have no idea how she got in, especially when a name actress like Marisa Tomei was up for the same show (emmy fave Alfre Woodard missing out is also quite surprising). |
