RE: Game of Thrones: The Final Season
It's interesting because, like MV, I recall some pretty flat times throughout the series. Danarys in Qarth. Theon Greyjoy getting constantly tortured by Ramsey Bolton. But if you asked me about season two, I'll tell you about shouting at the television during "Valar Morgulis." If you asked me about season three, I'll rhapsodize about the triple-layered foreshadowing of the Red Wedding and marvel anew at the direction. I agree that Arya's season five and six arc was distended (though not Bran's. But he was also gone for a season, wasn't he?)

RE: Game of Thrones: The Final Season
I’m on season 4 in my re-watch and am surprised some of you had it in the middle of the pack. It starts great, of course, and I remember the last few being great as well. Does it drag in the middle?

RE: Game of Thrones: The Final Season
Season 4 was good, but it did not have an hour of epic episodic greatness for me. The only season to not have that.
And 8.2 was another waste of an hour. Wow. This is not the same show it used to be. |

RE: Game of Thrones: The Final Season
Seriously? I kind of loved it. It's one of the more peaceful episodes (I mean, next week's gonna be a fucking bloodbath, so it's nice to have these quiet character-based episodes). Jaime knighting Brienne is probably one of my most favorite scenes of the series. Would be a good submission for Gwendoline Christie, if she gets submitted, of course.

Brienne being knighted was a moment. Arya's "I've seen death. It has many faces." line sent chills down my spine.

RE: Game of Thrones: The Final Season
Yeah, I pretty much loved it.
I'm gonna be sad when this show ends. |

RE: Game of Thrones: The Final Season
Same. These are exactly the kinds of episodes and scenes we've been missing the last couple of seasons.

Holy shit balls!
Yes, this episode is gonna win a shit-ton of Emmys. Directing, almost for sure. I was stressed the entire time and it paid off beautifully. Maisie Williams can win with this episode unless Lena Headey has a better tape! |
