I could see her getting nominated, especially since she's never had a follow up nod to her Dreamgirls win. I love her but I don't see another win coming her way for this. Critics aren't loving the film and by the end of the season she'll be on the bubble for getting in. (It's also the type of performance I could see everyone overlooking until SAG or another awards group brings it back.) Personally, I thought she was good but I was hoping for a real knockout, and it wasn't that for me. |

RE: Oscars 2022
Boy, Gaga sure did fade fast. They say "House of Gucci" is a mess.
And "Being the Ricardos." I am trying my hardest to keep an open mind, but that trailer and, especially Kidman (and I love her!), look AWFUL. |

RE: Oscars 2022
Reviews for Kidman and the cast as a whole are glowing, from what I've heard. I wasn't impressed with the make up in the trailer but I'm a Kidman stan, and so excited to see what she can do. Stewart is excellent in Spencer, though, so I expect the Actress win is probably down to them.

RE: Oscars 2022
I saw Gucci at a guild screening in LA two weeks ago and couldn't say anything until now bc embargo but people left the theater in a state of shock. Like...collective trauma re: what we experienced in that room. It's one of the worst movies I've ever seen and yes, I worship Gaga but she's embarrassing in it. I'm a really good sport when it comes to making fun of Italy but Leto's performance almost hurt my feelings. It deserves nothing and that's what it's gonna get.
I think Actress is Kidman vs Stewart and any year where Nicole is an Oscar frontrunner is a good year for me. KStew has the charisma and skill set of an asparagus and I hated 'Spencer.' Finally. 'The Power of the Dog' is incredible and I think it will easily lead the overall nomination count. |

RE: Oscars 2022
Could be that I was just so-so on Power of the Dog, but I feel like I see a lot of predictions going for Campion, Cumberbatch and Smit-McPhee, and I just can’t see all three of those happening. The Academy generally likes to spread the wealth, and I just don’t see this as a juggernaut.
