Didn't really care for Metcalf in Hacks - really just felt like she played one of her more irritating Roseanne personas. Thought she was great in The Dropout.

Sheryl Lee Ralph!!!
Macfayden and Goldstein each winning over 2 co-stars shows vote splitting isn't as big of a hindrance as people often think. |

RE: 74th Emmys Awards (2021/2022)
I watched the beginning and after the first few awards, turned it off. NEVER have I done that with an awards show. This production was awful from what I saw.
But... SHERYL. LEE. FUCKING. RALPH! And what a speech! I love Janelle James on AE, but I have thought she has been overpraised next to SLR! SO HAPPY! This is up there with Debra Messing, Kyle Chandler, and Merritt Wever as my fave Emmy wins. |

Although they were the favorites, I was still particularly rooting for Michael Keaton and Amanda Seyfried in their categories as they were so fantastic. I was most excited by Sheryl Lee Ralph's and Matthew MacFadyen's wins as they were not the favorites (but so deserving). I was also thrilled for Quinta Brunson's writing win. I don't think Mike White needed quite so many wins, but I suppose that was inevitable. Jerrod Carmichael is so hot. So is Murray Bartlett. I fast-forwarded through basically everything that wasn't an award since it looked to be a total mess. I did see Jimmy Kimmel act like an asshole in his bit by blocking access to the microphone, and I would be thrilled never to see or hear Pete Davidson ever again. |
