What a weird way to devalue comedies.

RE: 75th Emmy Awards (2022/2023)
To be fair, the number of nomination slots is determined by the number of submissions:
20 – 80 submissions = 5 nominations 81 – 160 submissions = 6 nominations 161 – 240 submissions = 7 nominations > 240 submissions = 8 nominations |

RE: 75th Emmy Awards (2022/2023)
I am old, but go back to 5 in all categories. It is one of the reasons people have stopped trying to watch it all with TV. It is impossible to keep up.

RE: 75th Emmy Awards (2022/2023)
Emmy nominations are out!
Some random thoughts: - YES! James Marsden got in Supporting Actor in a Comedy for Jury Duty and the show itself got in for Comedy (I knew that he was in once I saw that the show surprisingly got in). - Despite the limited voting slots this year, the TV Academy sure loves nominating White Lotus actors. They still got 8 acting nominations. - I knew Nick Offerman and Murray Bartlett were slam-dunks for Guest Actor Emmy nominations for The Last of Us but I was pleasantly surprised to see Lamar Johnson and Keivonn Woodard also getting in! - Thrilled Dominique Fishback got in! I wish Swarm got in Limited Series too. - Damn to those Goldderby predictors for talking me into predicting A Small Light. |

RE: 75th Emmy Awards (2022/2023)
Supporting Actor in a Drama is why I think the Emmys are truly a joke anymore. There is WAÀAAAAAY too much of nominated multiples from a single show. It is laughably insane! I probably will not even watch this year.

RE: 75th Emmy Awards (2022/2023)
Yeah that is wild, and it's not just Supporting Actor; in Supporting Actress 5 of the 8 nominees are from 1 show.

RE: 75th Emmy Awards (2022/2023)
You can't help but get the sense that the people who voted for these nominees watched Ted Lasso and a few HBO shows and then called it a day.
