RE: Vintage Emmy thoughts
Is "It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia" one of the longest running sitcoms never to get a nomination in the 'big eight' categories? All it's ever got are three nominations for 'Outstanding Stunt Coordination For A Comedy Series Or A Variety Program'.

Married With Children ran 11 seasons and never got in the 'big eight.' |

RE: Vintage Emmy thoughts
What are the big 8? The Drew Carey Show ran for 9 shows. Charles Nelson Reilly got a guest actor nomination; they have other nominations for some tech categories.
The show did do a memorable episode about how they never could get an Emmy nomination no matter what they did. |

RE: Vintage Emmy thoughts
There's two series categories. That would be eight, technically.

RE: Vintage Emmy thoughts
Well, I dunno. I just assumed that was what the eight meant. The "big fourteen", then.

RE: Vintage Emmy thoughts
No, I did mean seven focusing on just comedy even with the flip-flopping in categories with the likes of 'Orange is the New Black' involved. An 'Oscars hangover' on my behalf. Sorry, folks.
I wouldn't consider guest acting or casting as a 'big' award although I'm sure actors and casting directors certainly do. Over in drama, 'Sons of Anarchy' with just a miserly five nominations over seven seasons is a contender but there likely are longer running shows who got snubbed even harder. 'Oz' only had six seasons. 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' did get a writing nomination & won two Emmys. 'The Wire' only ever got two writing nominations for their five seasons. http://www.emmys.com/shows/sons-anarchy http://www.emmys.com/shows/oz http://www.emmys.com/shows/buffy-vampire-slayer http://www.emmys.com/shows/wire Why am I interested all of a sudden? Merely surprised that '...Philadelphia' had been renewed for seasons thirteen AND fourteen. Have never watched the show (too many seasons!) but it clearly has a fanbase so I had a look to see if the Emmys ever noticed it and it got me pondering. EDIT: Oh...I forgot about 'Gilmore Girls' and it's seven seasons (only ever nominated for make-up!?). http://www.goldderby.com/photos/118/1597...raham.html SECOND EDIT: The answer's probably 'Supernatural' isn't it? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_aw...mmy_Awards |

RE: Vintage Emmy thoughts
I forgot that neither Falco or Gandolfini got in for the first half of season 6.
