RE: Decision 2016
The fact that Donald Trump has emerged as a frontrunner for President of the United States is terrifying. And, frankly, if Sanders is the Democrat's pick, Trump may just win.

RE: Decision 2016
If Trump wins the primary, I think the Democrats are safe no matter who it ends up being. He's got a very reliable base, but very little chance of picking up much else outside of that. I can't see him getting more than 45 percent in a general election.

RE: Decision 2016
Clinton would handily defeat Trump. Sanders, on the other hand, I suspect would have a difficult time.

RE: Decision 2016
What if Trump loses in the primary to Cruz (or anybody), runs as a third party, and still beats the GOP candidate (but the Democrat ultimately wins)? Does that spell the end of this version of the GOP? Does it spell the end of the two party system?

RE: Decision 2016
Why are we so sure Bernie would have trouble or not win or why Clinton would be a better threat? She's sooo divisive.
I'm rooting for Bernie, but if Hillary gets the nomination I will still strategically vote for her. I just hope that whoever gets it, the libs and dems still stand together and vote. We will be in big trouble otherwise. |

Does that spell the end of this version of the GOP? Does it spell the end of the two party system? What a nice dream. And then the new GOP would most certainly have to come back with some less draconian, more progressive ideals (that still allow them to be the "conservative" party). |

I think they both have potential to be divisive come the general election. Bernie because of the "socialist/non traditional" stuff and Hillary because of the "she's in with Wall Street/she's a woman" stuff. Still, I see centrists much more likely to back either one of them than Cruz or Trump. Now, if someone like John Kasich had ever gained real traction... |

RE: Decision 2016
Yeah, I didn't mean that Clinton isn't divisive - as she obviously is. Sanders just seems like someone who wouldn't be that strong as an actual contender. I feel like he'd need a LOT of young voters to come out, because that seems to be who is "feeling the Bern". And I feel young voters are terribly unreliable They'll throw up a Facebook meme about candidates, but then not vote.
