Federer and Nadal, and Navratilova and Evert (and Seles/Graf in 1992/93, although Seles was arguably stabbed right when she was peaking). That's about it, I'd say.
As for Nadal, in 2008 he won 2 Slams, the Olympic gold, and made it to the semis in the other 2 Slams. In 2010, he won three Slams and made it to the quarters in the other one. He's won at least a Slam a year for 10 consecutive years (Roger and Novak can't say that). Overall, he's had some amazing seasons, as well. His lack of consistency wasn't necessarily dictated by dips in performance as much as injuries. |
