RE: The Official EGOT Watch Thread
Didn't Cynthia Erivo basically have the same trajectory (Tony --> Grammy --> Daytime Emmy) last year? It does seem like the way to go is to star in a Broadway musical because you kill two birds (Tony/Grammy) with one stone and then sing on a daytime program and snag a Daytime Emmy.

Ben Platt apparently won a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Guest Musical Performance for a morning show performance of Dear Evan Hansen. With his Tony and his Grammy for Best Musical Show Album (which now also goes to key soloists/performers), he has triple-crowned and is an Oscar away from EGOT-ing and he's only 25! Good for him, but in general I can’t equate that to some other EGOT winners since all his wins are for singing the same music. |

RE: The Official EGOT Watch Thread
The newest EGOT's. NOTE: John Legend is the first African-American male to have a fully-competitive EGOT. There could have been five but Pasek & Paul did not win their category. Had they won, they would've been the fastest to EGOT since they did it in three years. On the bright side, they still have six whole years to break the current record of 10 years held by Robert Lopez. |

RE: The Official EGOT Watch Thread
John's apparently the youngest person ever to do it as well. 39!?

RE: The Official EGOT Watch Thread
I think Robert Lopez is still the youngest at 38.

RE: The Official EGOT Watch Thread
Billy Porter won an Emmy and apparently already has a Grammy so again, he's missing an O.

RE: The Official EGOT Watch Thread
Alan Menken just won a Daytime Emmy so he's officially an EGOT* now.
Stephen Sondheim could join him in a few months if he wins for the Take to the World Sondheim special. |

RE: The Official EGOT Watch Thread
A Daytime Emmy is an Emmy. Stop with the asterisk.
