Not sure if it's better to have this discussion here or on Facebook. I've only gotten donations from four people. I'm not comfortable laying out over $200 myself to keep the boards going. If this is the end...it's been real, but we should come up with a plan to either migrate elsewhere (Erik's boards?) or re-start them somewhere cheaper. Also, if we're leaving, we need to make sure to save everything we needed before then.

Thanks for the extra dough, CG. Erik’s boards are AwardsWatch - several of us may be there already pulling up a lawn chair and a drink with a tiny umbrella.
I think we need a real convo though. Even if I get all the money this time, I’ll be collecting next year all over again. Frankly I don’t continuously want this responsibility of getting water from the stone. I don’t know how to best approach the subject when nobody is really responding in either place. We need to be asking the big philosophical questions: Is this board still worth having? Could we have the same benefits at a pre-existing site? Do we want to pay one more year as a stopgap for people to find other homes and preserve whatever materials they wanted from here? (If we don’t renew, all money will be returned, of course. It’s sitting in Culturish escrow.) |
