2015 Grammys thread (held in 2016)

Swift's "Blank Space," "Style" and "Bad Blood" should all be eligible, right? I think she'd be smart to push "Blank Space" everywhere. But maybe I am biased because I think "Bad Blood" (while good), is definitely weaker than "Blank Space". And "Style".

I'd imagine Swift's label will go with "Blank Space." It was easily the biggest hit of her eligible songs. I'm not convinced "Fight Song" (and more so Rachel) was big enough to get in RoTY and SoTY. Maybe Song only, though sometimes NARAS flips what you'd think. I'm thinking Record will be:
"Uptown Funk"
"Blank Space"
"Thinking Out Loud"
"Girl Crush" (or maybe just Song?)
"Can't Feel My Face"

Madonna could get in Dance Recording, but that's about it.

Album of the Year is going to be really interesting. Some of the riskiest releases that struck with critics were by R&B and hip-hop acts, but I can't see NARAS going for more than 2 between Dr. Dre, Kendrick Lamar, D'Angelo, and Miguel (not to mention Drake). They may not even go for 2 of those albums, but I don't know who else is even in contention other than Taylor Swift snagging a spot (though I'm not sure they will put her in Album, Record, and Song). Could Mark Ronson sneak in Album? Maybe The Weeknd? Should we prepare for Fall Out Boy landing a major nom or two? They've had a big year.

I'm just going to predict that Taylor gets nominated for every Grammy including Best New Artist again.

Speaking of her and BNA, I think Troye Sivan and Vance Joy, coincidentally two Australian males, will be significantly helped in their BNA campaigns because of her. Particularly Vance Joy.

"Wildest Dreams" is also eligible, isn't it? I could see her pushing that for Vocal Performance. She could really rake in the nominations this year.

Is there a vocal performance category anymore? I guess "Pop Solo," but I feel like they've gotten farther and farther away from that being a vocal category. Regardless, I don't think Swift has the vocal heft to pull off "Wildest Dreams," so I'd hope she'd go with something else.

True. I sometimes lose track of the Grammys and their categories.

Yeah their last two wins (Lorde and Pharell) were so not about the vocal performance.

Hell, even when it was called "Vocal Performance," it wasn't necessarily about a great vocal (see Sheryl Crow winning for "All I Wanna Do").

Could Kelly Clarkson end up with a couple nods, does anyone think? Another Pop Album, maybe a Pop Vocal ("Invincible")?

I know I keep asking questions, I'm just curious. New kid here.
