A cast full of trans actors and only the dude got in. I'm just kinda over it.
We needed Viola Davis and Robin Wright back, huh? |

The Chris Sullivan nomination makes me want to barf.
The Schitt's Creek, The Good Place, and Russian Doll nominations make me so incredibly happy, even if all of them should've gotten more nominations. Veep will probably win most of those categories anyway, but at least it won't be fucking Maisel. |

"Veep" kind of underperformed though.

No Julia Roberts is biggest surprise, I think. And Madden missing out.
I want "The Long Night" to win all the technicals for GoT because that was before it went to shit. Honestly, this hard-on for one of the worst concluded shows to ever be on TV is a little excessive and gross. And shame on them for not nodding any other players from "Pose" but Porter, who better win for God's sake. And Wright getting nominated is a joke. |

RE: 71st Emmy Awards (2018/2019)
I actually really liked the final season of Game of Thrones but even I agree 32 nods (a record for a series) is a bit much (I do get a perverse kick out of the internet hater reaction to it). But I am happy Gwendoline Christie, Alfie Allen and Sophie Turner got their nominations.
I'm thrilled that they actually nominated Asante Blackk (the kid actor who played the youngest Central Park Five boy) for Best Supporting Actor in a Limited Series/Movie. I remember watching his performance and getting blown away by it and thinking, he deserves an Emmy nomination and too bad he's not gonna get it because he's very young and he's an unknown newcomer. But he got in! Even more amazing is that this is his professional acting job! I didn't see The Act but Joey King's reaction to getting nominated is adorable. |

A lot of nominees I’m happy about, but two of my favorites from previous years, Pamela Adlon and Issa Rae, didn’t make the cut in comedy. But, that’s a pretty stacked field.

There were a lot of first time nominees but at the same time they were lazy votes. So many ineligible performers only helped what they were already watching. Different actors from the same damn shows.
