The snubs of Bob Odenkirk, Rhea Seehorn and Tom Pelphrey were unfortunate.
The Mandalorian and What We Do In the Shadows - who knew? Zendaya was a surprise too. I thought Euphoria was too young for the Emmys. |

RE: 72nd Emmy Awards (2019/2020)
Yeah, the snub for Bell when Danson, Harper, and Carden were all nominated is dumb, and while I only saw half of the actual nominees this year, I'd say she was more deserving than all of them except for Catherine O'Hara.
I hope Carden and Murphy tie for the Supporting Actress in a Comedy Emmy, but we all know it will go to Alex fucking Borstein again, some more. I'm still trying to wrap my brain around the lack of Tom Pelphrey. He gave the best dramatic performance on TV this past year, but, sure, let's not nominate him! The closest corollary I can think of is the snub for Zach Gilford. I guess I should check out Succession. |

At first glance these noms at least seem nicely diverse.
The snub of Bell seems random, but then they always snubbed her for Veronica Mars so she must not be a favorite. Reese Witherspoon was in 3 bug projects and didn't get an acting nod, but most of her co-stars did. Welp. |

For him not to get in despite the fact that Ozark did very well otherwise AND there were 8 slots in Supporting Actor is truly puzzling indeed. Also, not a single song from John Mulaney and Sack Lunch Bunch got in Outstanding Music & Lyrics? WTF?!? |

Yays
Noms for D'arcy Carden, the full cast of Schitt's Creek Boo: Only one nomination for The Plot Against America (Cinematography) Only one nomination for The Great (Directing for the pilot). No Hong Chau for Watchmen Just a couple of noms for Brooklyn Nine-Nine Overrewarded: Succession - Happy to see the show get nominated and think Culkin is great, but pretty meh on most of the remaining cast nominations. The Morning Show - Aniston is excellent and Crudup is good, but Duplass and Carrell are nothing special. Killing Eve - I dropped this after Season 2 and what seemed like mediocre reviews for Season 3...did I miss something? |

No, I really loved the first two seasons, but I was really disappointed with Season 3. If you were already feeling that in Season 2, it did not get better. |

I think it should additionally be up for supporting actor (Montgomery), supporting actress (Brown), drama series, writing x2, and directing x2. I am so happy that the show got in Series, but it should have been nodded for so much more! |

I am happiest about W&G's nominations. Especially in directing. Kind of cool that James Burrows came full circle since the show's first nod was for him directing the pilot.
Also, Buzz Aldrin got a cinematography nomination. Interesting. I'm surprised they got a series nod (this season sucked) and for Sandra Oh's nod. She wasn't remotely Emmy-worthy this year. It was one of those lazy rote nods. And they just like her in general. The other nominations they got I can understand. |
