It was just boring. The Crown taking home everything was horrendous. Downton Abbey never had such a run. It's the fascination with the monarchy. Could you imagine them giving The West Wing a shit load of BAFTAs? There's SOOOOOO much quality television that I just don't believe that anything should sweep like that. It was lazy as fuck.

It's funny Queen's won Casting when Mare is the one with three acting wins.

I have not seen any of the current winners that are on streaming. Is anyone else like me and does not subscribe to any streaming services as I do not want to subscribe to a service for what will probably be just one series and one or two movies? If what I read about series/movies interest me, I wait until they come out on video, or, in the case of movies, watch on Amazon with an Amazon gift card.

RE: 73rd Emmys Awards (2020/2021)
It's a big day here for me but since this impacts some things:
Primetime and Daytime Emmy eligibility now determined by genre, not by daypart - TLDR: all fictional programming EXCEPT daytime soaps are automatically Primetime, there's a new separate competition called Children's & Family Emmys, and crossover genres such as talk shows are determined by featuring certain characteristics other than timeslot. Two genres (Game Show and Instructional/How-To) are daypart-mandated for this year but will be transitioning next year as the two Academies continue their conversations. |
