At least they did not nominate "Handmaid's Tale" for much (used to love it, but good GOD). Same with those last two bull shit episodes of "Stranger Things" (again, used to love it, but it is also overstaying its welcome).

I don't know that any of these nominations is a surprise and don't agree with some of them (Brian Cox wasn't a lead this season, Nicholas Braun didn't have much to do, I would've preferred Lisa Ann Walter to Janelle James, etc.), but I'm very happy for Meghann Fahy, Phil Dunster, and Alan Ruck.

I think what also makes the multiple nomination thing worse is that "Succession" and "The White Lotus" are both about boring, rich, white people. Overrated messes of shows.

I hate to break it to you, but Jesse Armstrong has Writing in a Drama Series on lockdown.

You may think both Succession and The White Lotus are overrated messes about boring, rich, white people, but that's not the prevailing opinion. Succession is probably going to sweep all the major categories but Supporting Actress (which, unfortunately for me, will probably go to Coolidge, whom I personally find somewhat overrated – especially compared to her costars). I love both shows, so I'm happy. I hated the years when Peter Dinklage and Game of Thrones kept winning; such is the cyclical nature of the Emmys. It is what it is.

Offerman can win but "Connor's Wedding" is peak TV, one of the single best hours of TV this year, at least in my opinion. It's locked in. Perhaps "Long, Long Time" can win Directing.

Yeah, they only submitted that episode because they knew what they had. If they hadn't gone that route, Succession would have scored multiple Writing nods too.
