At first, I was pissed she did not submit the episode where she is in the mall, but then I remembered all that happened in the episode she submitted and thought about how it was a better submission. Prepare to get pissed off: Sarah Snook has this in the bag. |

I have to say the Emmy show is pretty good! It moves briskly and I kind of love the concept of having cast of historic TV shows present the awards.

RE: 75th Emmy Awards (2022/2023)
This is the first time in over 20 years I have not watched a major awards show. And I did not miss it. Looking at the winners list, I am glad I skipped. "Succession," "Beef," "The Bear." I like the concept of, "Spread the wealth," and the Emmys most assuredly do not know how to do that.

RE: 75th Emmy Awards (2022/2023)
There were exactly no surprises tonight (even in the truly competitive categories like Actor in a Drama or Actor and Supporting Actor in a Limited Series). I called every single one, and that's because they were all (except for one) incredibly deserving winners. I don't mind sweeps if the quality of the work supports it, and in the cases of Succession, The Bear, and Beef, the quality of the work supported their wins. So did the quality of the work of Niecy Nash-Betts and Paul Walter Hauser. The only winner for whom I would not have voted is Jennifer Coolidge; she's good in the show, but most of the other actresses in that category impressed me more (and I'm tired of Coolidge's schtick). Aside from her, I'm beyond thrilled with all of these winners (and I'm not even that annoyed that Coolidge won). I actually whooped when Steven Yeun and Kieran Culkin won.
If I never see Anthony Anderson again, it will be too soon. Blanche, I know you don't watch or like Succession; however, it truly is as good as these awards indicate, and Sarah Snook, Kieran Culkin, and Matthew Macfadyen gave among the best performances I've ever seen in any medium this last season. Also, you should watch The Bear; there are elemental aspects of it that I think you will really connect to. |
