And be the shortest to it. There are only two other PEGOT winners and both took longer to get all five.

RE: The Official EGOT Watch Thread
So apparently Ron Howard just triple-crowned with his Best Music Film Grammy win. Anyone else triple-crowned at the Grammys?
P.S. If Viola wins the Oscar, she will triple-crown. She will only lack a Grammy. P.P.S. Can anyone confirm if James Corden got a Grammy for "Can't Stop the Feeling" which won Best Song Written for Media tonight? He's listed among the singers as a nominee. If he did get one, he's also triple-crowned. |

RE: The Official EGOT Watch Thread
Cynthia Erivo double-fisted at the Grammys, and she just got cast in the biopic of Harriet Tubman. And she's 30 years old. So one to watch for sure.

RE: The Official EGOT Watch Thread
Benj Pasek and Justin Paul are likely winners for the Best Original Song Oscar for La La Land. They have a Broadway musical right now that's getting good notices called Dear Evan Hansen. They could win the Tony for that. They both could win Grammys for one or both of those projects next year as well. If things go their way, they're already 3/4 away from EGOT in the span of a year. I wonder if they've written music or songs for TV that we don't know about yet.

RE: The Official EGOT Watch Thread
I know it technically counts, but I think it's a bit cheap when two of the awards are for the same thing (i.e. a Tony and a Grammy for the same show).

RE: The Official EGOT Watch Thread
I did not know that Jennifer Hudson won the Daytime Emmy with the rest of the cast of "The Color Purple." She is only a T away from the EGOT.

Is that true? If it was for this appearance, I don't even see Hudson there: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bi4M8lnOCXs It does mean Cynthia Erivo now needs only the Oscar to EGOT. She has Harriet and Widows coming out over the next two years. |
